Brenda Bazaldua - Foreign Language Director & Spanish Teacher |

I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, where I earned a B.A. in Business Administration. I have worked in private industry as well as in the public sector. The most rewarding part of my career has been owning my own business, a language institute, for the last 12 years. Now, I am proud to be part of the Khabele community. Best teaching practices are part of my daily lessons. The methodology I utilize in classes is Accelerated Learning, for which I was trained and certified at the University of Houston and Suggestopedia-Desuggestive teaching, for which I was trained and certified in Vienna, Austria by its creator Dr. Lozanov. By using music, art, freedom of expression, and love, I can now create an enjoyable and safe environment for people to learn, grow and free their minds of previous negative experiences with the learning process. Watching the creativity, calmness and smiles of others while sharing and learning with them is one of the most rewarding feelings of my life. I love learning languages and I enjoy very much the cultural aspect of them. I consider myself a life student who will never stop learning and sharing the love for languages and the love for life. For me, the present day is the best day to learn, laugh, admire something, and share a smile.

Stephanie Epstein - Spanish & French Teacher |

I am half French and half American. I was raised in Chantilly, France, a small town in the countryside 40km north of Paris. After obtaining my Baccalaureate in France, I decided to take my father’s offer to come attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas and try “the American way of life.” I was able to perfect my English and also decided to further my study of other foreign languages as I obtained a B.A in Foreign languages and literature. I have been very fortunate to live, work, study and vacation in many places around the world. Being the product of two very different cultures I have always had a natural desire to be open to all cultures and all people. I thrive to help others to have that same kind of awareness and respect for other cultures. Teaching foreign languages and cultures is the most natural career for me. I am grateful to share my passion with the Khabele students this year. This will be my third year at the Khabele School and I am in love with this community. In my spare time I try to visit and keep up with friends and family around the world, attend meditation groups, go to many music shows, and spend time with all the inspiring people in my life.

Paola Ibarra - Spanish Teacher |

I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico from a Mexican/American family. Although I got my BA in Human Resources Management, I didn’t find my true calling until I started teaching English as a Foreign Language in 2001. Since then, I have been teaching both ESL and Spanish in different kinds of settings. I continue to constantly fall in love with my job. I consider a foreign language to be a door that opens thousands of doors. I love exploring new cultures, traditions, food and music from other countries and being able to speak the language just makes it more meaningful. I'm excited to share my vision with the Khabele School this year. In my free time I like to spend time with my husband and play with our two cats, going for long walks, hiking, yoga, meditation or reading a good book.
