Don't just sit around and waste away your precious summer. Colleges love to see students who use their summers to learn a new skill, rack up academic credits, or pursue the arts. Plus you will have fun in the process. The Khabele School offers a wide variety of academic courses, leadership, arts, magic, and acting camps. We are located in Austin's historic downtown district and feature a campus with beautiful sun-lit spaces close to hip local cafes, restaurants, and shops. Khabele Summer School Program- for credit recovery or early high school graduation, earn up to two years of accredited high school academic credit in 8 weeks Session 1 - June 14 - July 9 (ages 13 to 18) Khabele Middle School Prep Camp- gear up for middle school with this one-week enrichment camp that teaches writing skills, computer literacy, and arts appreciation, and exposes students to yoga, dance, outdoor education, community service, martial arts, film, photography, media arts, and theatre Khabele School Summer Leadership Intensive- a one-week intensive program that will teach young leaders how to lead themselves, others and the global community at large. The program *co-directors are planning a schedule that will be highly experiential and varied, with small group projects, guest-led workshops and unusual field trips. Not only will participants learn practical leadership skills in an engaging way but they will also have fun (and for those that want it, gain something very tangible to add to their college or job application forms). All that is needed is an inquiring mind and an open heart (and being aged between 13 and 18). The fee will be $495 (excluding meals and drinks)which will allow for at least one scholarship. Kent Cummins Magic Camp- a two-week multi-sensory camp that combine the fun of magic, puppets, and juggling to boost self-esteem and make kids feel like stars Kids Acting- one-week and two-week sessions that teach acting, voice, set design, costuming, and play production (voted Best of Austin seven times by the Austin Chronicle) Austin Creative Art Center- one-week morning or afternoon camps that teach art appreciation, painting, drawing, and sculpture (award-winning art camp celebrating 20 years of arts education to the Austin community)
